COVID-19 Updates

Update: 3/17/2020

During this time of uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic Seacrest Home Health has been keeping up-to-date with World Health Organization and CDC guidelines and adhering to all protocols related to our segment of business. Despite the current chaos within our industry and the population in which we serve, I want you to know – we are here to care throughout the chaos.

In the greater community we are still meeting with families who we currently serve and are taking all steps necessary to ensure care while minimizing the risk of infection. To that end, we are:

  • Requiring that all our caregivers notify us when traveling anywhere outside of San Diego County.
  • Requiring that caregivers utilize sick time if they are showing any symptoms.
  • Requiring additional hygiene-related measures. This includes before arriving at the client’s, washing vigorously after every task with a client, sanitizing the client’s home wherever the caregiver has been, and washing their hands upon leaving
  • Reviewing and rearranging schedules to minimize the number of clients each caregiver serves.

On the Seacrest Village campus, our caregivers are required to enter through the main entrance, immediately wash their hands and have their temperatures taken. At that point, they will be allowed to proceed directly to their client’s room. Anyone with a temperature above 100 degrees will be sent home immediately and care of that client will be reassigned.

We have, and are, equipping our Caregivers with disinfectants, masks, gloves, and any other protective gear they request. At present, residents of Seacrest Village’s Independent Living are strongly advised not to leave the building and are not permitted to gather in groups of 5 or more. Meals are being delivered to resident rooms and life enrichment activities are being streamed to resident rooms.

We believe that we have taken all steps we can to prevent the spread of disease as well as ensure care for the most vulnerable people in our society.
